Description

A carved lintel rests across two tall stone pillars while the rising sun reflects down a quiet river. Ducks move through the water and a small animal watches from the rocks, softening the monument with signs of ordinary life. Sunrise becomes an act of passage, with the old stones serving as a gate the new day does not truly need. The structure may be a ruin, a ceremonial gate, or the remains of something whose purpose has been forgotten. Morning continues through it anyway. That contrast gives the scene its lasting appeal: human structures age and lose their names, while light, water, and wildlife keep using the opening. It offers a calm reminder that beginnings do not need permission from what came before.
