The King at the Luminous Mirror

Description

A robed king stands before a bright circular portal set inside an ornate arch. One hand reaches toward the light while fruit and a covered vessel rest on the low altar between them. A torch and two carved busts occupy the shadowed room behind. Authority has been placed in the role of a seeker. The crown offers no control over what the portal may show. The offerings suggest respect, bargaining, or preparation for an answer that cannot be ordered. Viewers may imagine prophecy, communication, judgment, or a confrontation with the ruler’s own reflection. The king has approached the light; whether it recognizes him remains unknown.
