Midnight Vestments

Description

A hooded figure stands inside a leafy frame, holding a tall staff crowned with a faceted crystal. The free hand opens beneath a small field of stars, while a book, skull, candles, and glass vessel gather near the hem. The artwork treats ritual as practiced work rather than spectacle. The objects suggest study, mortality, chemistry, and belief, but the figure’s calm posture keeps them from becoming theatrical props. This could be an invocation, a lesson, or the final step of a ceremony repeated many times. The crystal and stars answer each other across the dark, leaving the viewer to wonder whether the figure is calling light down-or returning it to the sky.
