America: Westward Bound brings together scenes of American westward expansion, including railroads, the Statue of Liberty, pioneers with a covered wagon, industrial factories, gold miners, and soldiers with an American flag. The piece is framed by an elaborate decorative border featuring a heraldic eagle with a shield and stars at the top, and crossed cannons framing a five-pointed star at the bottom.
