Caring for Your Artwork

Thank you for choosing a piece from Crafted Runes Studio.

Natural slate is a remarkably durable material that has been shaped by nature over millions of years. With only minimal care, your engraved artwork will retain its beauty for many years to come.

Every piece is created to be enjoyed, displayed, and appreciated as a lasting work of art.

Cleaning Your Slate

Routine care requires very little effort.

If dust collects on the surface, gently wipe it away using a soft microfiber cloth.

If additional cleaning is needed, lightly dampen the cloth with clean water and wipe the surface gently before drying it with another soft cloth.

Avoid soaking the slate or allowing water to remain on the surface for extended periods.

What to Avoid

To help preserve your artwork, please avoid:

  • Abrasive scrub pads or brushes
  • Harsh household cleaners
  • Bleach or ammonia-based products
  • Pressure washing
  • Dishwashers
  • Prolonged exposure to standing water

These products and conditions can affect the natural appearance of the slate over time.

Displaying Your Artwork

Crafted Runes Studio artwork is designed primarily for tabletop display using an easel or display stand.

Place your artwork on a stable, level surface where it can be safely enjoyed.

Avoid placing heavy objects against the engraved surface or storing pieces where they may rub against harder materials.

Natural Character of Slate

Every piece of slate is unique.

You may notice small variations in texture, edge shape, mineral patterns, or tiny natural imperfections.

These characteristics are not defects.

They are part of what makes every piece one of a kind and reflect the natural beauty of genuine stone.

The Engraving

Your artwork is permanently engraved into the surface of the slate.

Unlike printed images or surface coatings, the engraving becomes part of the stone itself.

With normal indoor display and proper care, the artwork is intended to be enjoyed for many years.

Indoor Display

Natural slate performs best indoors.

While slate itself is highly durable, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, excessive moisture, freezing temperatures, or repeated weather cycles may gradually affect its appearance.

For the longest life and best presentation, indoor display is recommended.

A Lasting Piece

Every piece that leaves my studio has been individually engraved, inspected, and carefully prepared.

My hope is that your artwork becomes more than a decoration—that it becomes part of your home, your memories, and your story.

Thank you for supporting independent craftsmanship.
