Watcher at the Spire
$49.99
A cloaked person stands on a rocky pass, watching a river wind through a forested valley toward a distant needle-like spired city, with a waterfall cascading beside jagged ridgelines.
Description
From the lip of a rocky pass, a solitary, shoulder-length haired figure in a floor-grazing cloak observes a densely forested valley where a serpentine river threads beneath stone viaducts and along terraced ridgelines. A tall, multi-stream waterfall drops from a steep cliff at left while riverside buildings and a secondary aqueduct punctuate the middle ground. The composition channels the eye along the river toward a towering, needle-like spire rising above jagged mountain peaks.
Rendered in high-contrast engraving-style linework, highlights appear as white strokes and stippling against a black field, with dense cross-hatching and parallel contour lines conveying texture and depth. A plume of smoke or cloud arcs from a volcanic peak as small birds scatter across the dark sky, reinforcing the strong vertical axis of spire, fall, and figure.
