The Deer Before Dawn

Description

A deer stands on the grassy shore with its head turned back, alert but not yet ready to run. A bright reflection crosses the calm lake toward distant mountains, while lily pads and a single bloom rest nearby. The encounter depends on stillness: one sudden movement and the deer may be gone. The animal has noticed us, and the next movement could end the moment. The vertical light separates deer from landscape while also leading the eye deeper into the lake and mountains. An early-morning sighting or favorite lake may come back, along with the instinct to hold completely still for one more second.
