Description

I wanted to make a single scene that reads like a vintage park map and a storybook engraving at once: a central Tree of Life rises on a sunlit ridge while a fairytale castle anchors the left and a geodesic sphere and hotel tower sit to the right, all viewed through an ivy-draped stone arch.

Signs and lamp posts in the foreground—an old stone welcome plaque, an ornate hanging sign that reads “ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE,” and a wooden directional post—give the image a traveler’s touch and guide the eye toward the sunburst at center. The whole composition is rendered in high-contrast linework to feel like an old etching brought up to modern scale.
