Lanterns on the Causeway

Description

An ornate lantern hangs close above carved stone and cobbles while a stepped path recedes between rocks and trees. Farther lights guide the way toward a reflective band of water and layered mountains beneath the crescent moon. The route is defined by trust in one light after another. The destination cannot be seen clearly from the starting point, but the path has been marked by someone who knew travelers would come through after dark. Anyone who has followed one pool of light at a time will recognize the comfort of guidance without certainty. You do not need to see the end to take the next illuminated step.
